Frequently ASKED QUESTIONS

  • We welcome children from 6 weeks old through 6th grade. Our programs include Infant (6 weeks–18 months), Toddler (18 months–3 years), Primary (Preschool & Kindergarten, ages 3–6), and Elementary (Lower Elementary 1st–3rd grade and Upper Elementary 4th–6th grade).

Each level is thoughtfully designed to nurture independence, confidence, and a love of learning, meeting children right where they are in their growth and development. We celebrate each child’s growth and encourage them to move into the next program as soon as they are ready, no matter the time of year.

  • At TMS, families discover a place where children can begin their educational journey as infants and continue to grow through their elementary years. As an AMS (American Montessori Society) affiliated school, we hold ourselves to the highest standards of Montessori education, with many of our certified teachers serving here for more than 15 years.

Beyond the basics of preschool, children at TMS gain practical life skills like cooking and gardening, explore creativity through fine arts, and dive into discovery. What makes us different is the way academic learning and real-life experiences come together, helping children build confidence, independence, and a true love of learning.

  • Our classrooms vary in size but are all carefully prepared environments designed for small-group learning and individualized attention. This approach ensures every child receives personal guidance while also having the freedom to explore and work independently. Every classroom learns with the support of one or two Montessori-certified lead teachers in the classroom.

Each classroom also features mixed-age groupings, giving younger children the chance to learn naturally from older peers, while older children develop confidence and leadership skills. This intentional balance creates a community where every child feels supported, known, and empowered to grow.

  • We know every family’s schedule is different, so we offer flexible program options to fit your needs:

    • Half-Day Program: 8:30 AM – 11:30 AM

    • Extended-Day Program: 8:30 AM – 2:45 PM

    • Full-Day Program: 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Families can also choose a 2, 3, or 5 day schedule, giving you the flexibility to find the perfect fit for you and your child.

  • A Montessori environment is a wonderful fit for children who are naturally curious, love hands-on exploration, and thrive in an environment that encourages independence and responsibility. At TMS, families are welcomed into the largest Montessori school in North Texas, where many of our teachers have guided children for over 15 years, offering both expertise and consistency for your children.

In our TMS classrooms, students gain more than academic knowledge by building real-life skills like cooking, gardening, and caring for their environment, which give them confidence and independence from the earliest years. The best way to know if TMS is the right fit for your child is to see our dedicated teachers and students in action by coming in for a tour.

  • Our Signature STEAMprogram is woven into daily life, bringing the Montessori philosophy to life in joyful and meaningful ways. Children explore science, technology, cooking, fine arts, and gardening through hands-on projects that spark curiosity and creativity. Our students might harvest herbs from our organic garden to use in a recipe in our learning-focused kitchen or express themselves through music and art inspired by their own discoveries. STEAM™ classes are taught by separate staff than our regular classroom teachers, all of which specialize in their lessons.

Every child, from our youngest infants to our elementary leaders, experience STEAM™ as a natural extension of their Montessori journey. It is one of the ways we help children see learning not just as an activity, but as something they truly love.

  • At The Montessori School at StarCreek, community is at the heart of everything we do. From the time your child joins us, you’ll find that many of the families you meet in Infant and Toddler programs will grow alongside you all the way through 6th grade, creating lasting friendships for both children and parents.

We also host a variety of events throughout the year such as our Back to School Bash, community visitors, classroom celebrations/presentations, special programs, and so much more. Communication between families and teachers are especially important, including weekly phone calls on your child’s progress and the ability to address any questions directly to our lead teachers. These connections make TMS feel less like a school and more like a family, where children and parents alike feel known and supported.
